Villa Tranquila

Canggu, Bali - Indonesia

The design brief for Villa Tranquila called for a `western amenity within a traditional Balinese aesthetic`.

Set in a remote terraced rice field location, the design solution incorporates a multi-level cluster of pavilions, linked by an open walkway spine.

The traditional Balinese `kul-kul` (central village tower) structure in this application, serves as a stairwell in the lowest section, AC plant room, water storage and retreat lookout (bale) at the top.
